Zoning & Land Use
Miller Scott Holbrook & Jackson has zoning and land use experience to match any large Providence firm. All of our partners have served as solicitor or assistant solicitor in Newport, Middletown, and Portsmouth, with years of experience advising zoning and planning boards. Roland Chase, of counsel to the firm, is the author of the Rhode Island Zoning Handbook, the leading text on zoning law in Rhode Island, as well as dozens of articles in local and national publications.
While our firm has guided some of the largest building projects in Newport County, we also represent many small businesses and homeowners. We represent clients interested in everything from opening new businesses to building additions to their homes for growing families. Still other clients seek representation in their opposition to proposed development threatening their neighborhoods.
The attorneys at Miller Scott Holbrook & Jackson know the zoning process and have years of experience appearing before the Historic District Commission, the Planning Board, and the Zoning Board of Review. We will be happy to discuss your plans and offer advice about procedures and the likelihood of success.
